The Holy Temple

We were able to go to the Ogden temple open house as a family. It is a stunning building and was so edifying to be there.  Temples are truly a testimony of Heavenly Father's love for His children and that His work is Eternal!
I really hope that Henry, Lizzy and Louise felt the Spirit while there. I think they did. They were so happy to be with their cousins so at times they were a little rambunctious but at least it was a joyful and happy occasion.  We asked the kids what their favorite part was and Henry said "I liked that celestial room the best."  Lizzy said "I like the swimming room" and Henry said "Lizzy, that's the baptizing room!"  And our nephew Larsen said, "I like the bathtub with the cows in it:)"  (The baptismal font on the oxen)
I personally loved being in one of the Sealing rooms with everyone.  Louise walked in and saw the altar and said "oh!" with a happy expression on her face.  My sister-in-law Heather said that Lizzy quietly walked up to the altar and touched it and then hurried back to sit down.  I think they felt a special spirit there.
The artwork throughout the temple is so inspiring. It depicts the Savior, the beauties of the earth, the simpleness and beauty of daily life, and one particular painting outside of the women's dressing room is so humbling, it's of an african woman dressed in white kneeling in humble prayer. We are all brother's and sister's and children of the most High God!
I'm so grateful for the temple and the holy work that goes on within it's walls. Lanning commented that the temple has a different feeling before it is dedicated. After dedication it feels so alive! The Lord's work is going forward!
