the phone shelf.

we have this random little square hole in our kitchen wall with a little shelf on it.  We didn't really know why it was there until the day someone came over to hook up our internet.  He was looking for a phone jack and we told him we didn't think we had one. He knew just where to look.  It was on the underside of our square hole. He told us it was used in older homes as a shelf for a telephone! So now our modem sits there and it's also a fun window to peek through into the children's room.  The kids love it because they come up with fun games that entertain them for hours like this one:)
