the collector

Lately Henry has had a fetish with scriptures. That's a good thing, right. He has gathered as many scriptures in the house that he could find. First he carried them around in baskets...then he transferred them to diaper boxes...now they are in grocery sacks. He likes to look at them and count them and show them to us.  A few weeks ago it was coins that he gathered and carried and transferred and counted. He would say "i love money!" and we would think "oh dear, isn't the love of money the root of all evil?" anyways...we weren't sure if we should encourage the money-hoarding habit, but we just let it go.  Now he has moved on to scriptures.  So maybe it is not the item he collects that matters so much he just likes the act of doing it! Also it's a great way for him to learn how to count. It's sure fun to watch what he is drawn to and what he comes up with.

  1. So cute. It seems that my worries with my kids are most always unfounded. Just because they do something one day doesn't mean they are going to continue on doing it. Still, I worry. Silly. Yeah, I think he's just interested in collecting. Kids are so interesting!
